Who is AG?

Anne Goodman

In the beginning of my career I set out with only one pretty naive, simplistic goal: to change the world for good. I did that through legislative work on Capitol Hill and many years of service to causes I believe in. Everything I have done up until now has led me to the inescapable conclusion that I can make the most impact by helping good people, serving vital missions reach their maximum potential.

I have spent 30 years in the non-profit field, including fifteen as the CEO of the Cleveland Food Bank, during which time I led 2 mergers, a capital campaign and a prolonged period of extraordinary growth.

I spent another five years as the CEO of the $180M Saint Luke’s Foundation, overseeing the creation and implementation of a strategy focused on health equity. There I got a bird’s eye view of the breadth of excellence and the needs and challenges many nonprofits face. Money is crucial for nonprofit success, but sustainability and excellence are where I can have the most impact on your success so that your vital mission is well served. I also know nonprofits from a board perspective, having served on several boards over the years.

In April of 2020 I launched my own consulting practice, AG Nonprofit Advisors, established to strengthen the nonprofit community by using my experience and knowledge. I have seen the inside of a lot of nonprofits, and I have walked many miles in the shoes of a nonprofit leader.

Though less valuable than my years of experience, I have a Master’s degree in Non-Profit Administration from the University of Chicago, numerous awards and recognized success in fundraising, financial administration, grant making, program evaluation, strategy implementation and mentorship.
